Here’s How 2 UP Cops Who ‘Planted Gun’ To Arrest A Teacher In A False Case Were Exposed

Two UP police constables, Santosh Kumar and Dinesh Kumar, concealed a countrymade handgun in the instructor’s bike that was kept in his residential enclosure, leading to the arrest of the teacher at the coaching center in Meerut on suspicion of smuggling weapons. Ankit Tyagi, the victim, was allegedly detained for more than 15 hours despite the CCTV camera catching clear proof in his favor.

Tuesday is when the event happened. In the roughly 5-minute video, it can be seen that two police officers entered the Kharkhoda, Meerut district, coaching center of instructor Ankit Tyagi and placed a firearm on a bike that was parked inside the building. The two officers then seize Ankit, who was inside studying, and drag him outside. Following that, they can be seen “recovering” the handgun off the bike.

In the case, farmer Ashok Tyagi from Kharkhoda’s Khandavali hamlet is involved in a land dispute. According to allegations, Ashok and his family have been subjected to harassment by the police and other parties. On Tuesday night, when the police initially entered the area, they discovered nothing suspicious.

The two constables reportedly planted the evidence and detained the teacher at the “request” of the other family since the teacher’s family had a long-standing conflict with another family in the neighborhood, according to a story in NDTV.

Two Uttar Pradesh police officials were reportedly fired from their positions and sent to the police lines on Thursday after they are accused of hiding a weapon in a motorcycle and then detaining the rider on suspicion of carrying a gun illegally, according to news agency PTI. IG Meerut has also requested a report on the whole affair.

The young man’s family said that Dinesh and Santosh, two police officials, stormed their house in Khudawali village and claimed to have information of illegal weapons being held there.

Samajwadi Party head Akhilesh Yadav comments on the event on his official X (formerly known as Twitter) account, saying: “First they keep it themselves and then recover it, their raid and detention is false.”
