UP is expected to become a hub for data centers, and Lucknow will become a city of AI: Yogi

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Lucknow, the state capital, will become a major hub for artificial intelligence (AI), while Uttar Pradesh was expected to become a hub for data centers.

There are now three data centers in operation in UP, while eight more are under construction. He said that the kids of IIM Lucknow are actively involved in the government’s efforts to transform Lucknow into an AI city.

Speaking at the “Destination UP-Emerging Hub for AI in India” conference, which was a component of the fourth UP Investors’ Summit Groundbreaking Ceremony, the Chief Minister said, “Up was making progress in all areas today, but in the past, such possibilities were nonexistent in the state. The state’s institutions have done a fantastic job of turning size into skill, but speed is another need for this talent, which may be met by implementing digitalization.

Yogi highlighted the promise of artificial intelligence and its many uses in a range of industries, including healthcare, education, and agriculture. He also noted that the usefulness of AI depended on how well it could be tailored to the individual requirements of its users.

He also said that preparations were on to establish an AI center at Gautam Buddha Nagar University in Greater Noida. “With this initiative, we hope to give millions of young people job opportunities right in their neighborhoods and homes.”

Yogi presented the book “Destination UP Opportunities AI” earlier in the colloquium. Three Memoranda of Understanding were signed in front of the Chief Minister at the occasion. Notably, the government agent signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) for the development of an AI center with Abhishek Bose of Microsoft Corporation, Dhruv Kohli of HCL Software, and Shekhar of Wadhwani AI.
