Wanted Criminal in Uttar Pradesh Killed in Police Interaction

According to police, a criminal who had a Rs 1 lakh bounty on his head was murdered on Friday morning in Sultanpur district during an encounter with the Special Task Force of the Uttar Pradesh Police.

They stated that Vinod Kumar Upadhyay was the name of the offender.

Upadhyay was shot after a confrontation with the Special Task Force, according to Additional Director General of Police, STF, Amitabh Yash. He was taken to a hospital, where he later passed away.

According to police, up to 35 instances of horrible crimes against Upadhyay have been filed in Gorakhpur, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, and Lucknow.

According to a police statement, the Gorakhpur police had offered him a reward of Rs 1 lakh in September 2023.
