Chinese Man Starts Matchmaking Business After 20 Blind Dates and Still Can’t Find Love

Who said you can’t find love for other people if you can’t find love for yourself? This was shown by a Chinese guy who, after 20 blind dates, became a matchmaker and assisted 346 marriages.

In 2016, Zhou Shipeng, a 34-year-old man from northern China’s Hebei province, went on up to 20 blind dates as a result of parental pressure to get married. But instead of working hard to find a suitor for himself when he couldn’t find his match, he turned into a successful matchmaker and over the last seven years has assisted other couples in finding love.

When Zhou Shipeng first began going to his neighborhood matching service in 2017, he discovered that most of the ads were from parents or grandparents looking for mates for their loved ones. It’s crucial to remember that this is a very typical practice in China. Zhou Shipeng realized he could act as the intermediary as he continued to visit this location.

Zhou Shipeng documented the parents’ preferences for their prospective in-laws, including their career, height, and dating history. Individuals who met the expectations of his clientele began to inspire him. He soon assisted his first couple in discovering love. “The happiness I felt then was more than if I were getting married,” he was reported as saying in the South China Morning Post.

This one successful effort gave him even more incentive to go on working. He was committed to helping as many people as possible find love, and by April 2018, he was working as a matchmaker full-time.

Quite miraculously, he found a mate for himself while also finding affection for others. According to accounts, his wife had come looking for her own suitor. After realizing they had a lot in common, they started dating. They exchanged vows of nuptials. They currently have a daughter.
