Maharashtra Police Constable Welcomes Baby Boy After Getting a Sex Change Surgery

Lalit Kumar Salve, a police policeman from Beed district in Maharashtra, has disregarded social conventions in order to begin a family. He changed his gender to male in 2020, got married, and on January 15th, he had a baby son. This Rajegaon villager is embracing parenthood today, demonstrating the pleasure and resiliency of the transgender community.

When this police officer was born in June 1988, her birth name was Lalita Salve. In 2013, she noticed physical changes. Tests on the patient’s body showed the existence of a Y chromosome, which is normally found in men and two X chromosomes in females. Doctors diagnosed Mr. Salve with gender dysphoria and advised sex reassignment surgery since males normally have both X and Y chromosomes. It was recommended that he undergo this medical intervention in order to support his gender identity and address the difficulties arising from gender dysphoria.

The officer had three procedures between 2018 and 2020 to undergo sex-change surgery after gaining consent from the state government in 2018. In 2020, Mr. Salve married a lady from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, marking the start of a new chapter in his personal life after this life-changing experience.

Salve’s marriage to this woman was a major turning point in his life, demonstrating his tenacity in overcoming the challenges of gender change and accepting a new marriage.

Speaking with reporters, Mr. Salve said, “I had many challenges when I transitioned from being a lady to a guy. I had the good fortune to have a large network of supporters throughout this period. Seema, my wife, desired a child.”

“I am content with my new role as a parent. My family is ecstatic,” he said.
