Man Wants Money After His Stolen Debit Card Won Rs 41 Crore Lottery

After a debit card was used fraudulently to purchase a lottery ticket and went on to win a £4 million (Rs 41.62 crore) jackpot, the guy claimed he wanted the winnings. Joshua Addyman, 29, didn’t know until this week that his card information was used to buy the winning red scratchcard in 2019.

The “Blotto Louts,” Mark Goodram and Jon-Ross Watson, were burglars on the rampage in London when they purchased the lottery ticket, defying the odds of 40,19,579 to 1 to win one of the three highest prizes.

The Bolton career criminals indulged in a five-day binge when they consumed a wide range of alcoholic drinks. They were apprehended after they unintentionally disclosed that they lacked bank accounts, which sparked an investigation by the authorities.

Up to that moment, Watson had 133 convictions total, while Goodram had 22 convictions in 45 criminal cases. After entering a guilty plea to fraud, the robbers were released from custody, but not before making a desperate move in which they went public and claimed that the debt belonged to a friend who wanted to “remain anonymous.”

Addyman said that he would want a share of the winnings and claimed that Greater Manchester Police contacted him about his stolen debit card but did not provide an explanation.

The amount of Rs 41 crore would be fantastic if I could get any of it. He told The Sun, “No one ever told me it was because someone won £4 million.”

“I was thinking, ‘Why is this such a huge deal?’ after having my card taken before. I never heard anybody explain it to me. I would have been curious to know what would happen to the folks who won £4 million using my card.”
