This Post Will Bring Back Memories of the Apsara Pencil and iPhone

Even seemingly little items like pens had cultural significance while we were in school. Although many people would assume that a pencil is simply a pencil, in the environment of primary school classrooms, pencils have somehow come to be associated with money. High-end lead pencils were those that had replaceable leads. Perfume-infused colorful erasures were thought to be superior to ordinary erasures, while multi-compartment pencil boxes were thought to be superior to standard pencil boxes. Children would also often engage in “pencil fights,” in which the object was to “win” or “lose” their school supplies, despite the instructors’ frequent disapproval of such activities.

A post that contrasted well-known pencil brands like Apsara and Natraj with phone brands was recently posted by an X user. People were inspired by this to compare and develop hypotheses when they positioned various brands of pencils next to cellphones. This amusing activity was begun by an X user who posted pictures of the traditional Natraj pencil and the triangle-shaped Apsara pencil, writing, “In school days, Apsara was the apple and Natraj was the android.” Since it was shared on April 15, this post has received over 3.8 lakh views.

A member named X sent a picture of the well-known white pencil embellished with pink flowers to the thread, captioning it, “Camlin Flora, This was Redmi.”

Pencils were brought up by an X user, who asked if they should be treated as foldable gadgets.

Others mentioned their excitement regarding pencils. “Fun fact, my dad bought me a whole pack of apsara back in fourth grade?” reminisced an X user. I believe? I sharpened every pencil in the package and kept them in storage so I could use them right away since I was so delighted.

Someone compared a Samsung Galaxy to a pencil with a rubber grip.

Somewhere in between Camlin remained as Blackberry, according to an X user’s opinion.

People were also eager to point out how numerous pencils, while being produced by the same manufacturer, were promoted as competitors’ goods. “Both of these pencils are manufactured by the same company named HINDUSTAN PENCILS PVT LTD While u all fight over it they both are products of same company,” an X user pointed out in reference to Apsara and Natraj pencils.

Something similar was written by someone else: “Did you know? Hindustan Pencils owns both of them, and they are arranged specifically so that Nataraj, who writes, and Apsara, who draws, may establish monopolies in their respective markets.
An X user recounted an experience from school, writing, “When I showed a different pencil to a classmate who used to draw really well in fifth grade, she said, ‘Nataraj is the best.'” I was raised by a fantastic artist, therefore, I never wavered from that. Guy continued and joined IIMA. I often wonder if the creativity inside him is still there whenever I see this brand.

In addition to creating enjoyable memories on X, this lighthearted and enjoyable activity brought back fond memories of school days when having nice stationery like pencil boxes, sharpeners, and geometry boxes was considered a source of amusement.
