US-based Doctor Angry After Paying Rs 4 Lakh for Friend’s Wedding of Wife, Post Gains Viral Following

If asking guests to contribute to the honeymoon wasn’t enough, a case such as this one surfaced on social media when a lady was required to pay an astounding Rs. 4 lakhs in order to attend her friend’s wedding. You really read it right. A doctor from the US expressed his annoyance about his wife’s high spending in a post that has now gone viral.

Sravan Panuganti revealed on ‘X’ (previously Twitter) how his wife had to foot the bill for being a bridesmaid at her friend’s wedding. In his breakdown of expenditures, he included the bachelorette party at $2,000 (about Rs 1.67 lakh), the bridal shower at $1,500 (around Rs 1.25 lakh), and extra spending for clothes, coming to almost $5,000 (roughly Rs 4.18 lakh) for his family to attend the wedding.

Panuganti lamented the unfair treatment of his friends and voiced his displeasure at the participants’ financial burden. He also made the cynical quip that one should save such costs for their greatest adversaries rather than their closest friends.

The public soon began to chuckle and leave comments once the post gained popularity. That seems a little excessive. I would politely reject it. One person exclaimed, “F**k that noise,” while another commented, “She doesn’t have to do any of those things.” “No” is a whole phrase. Furthermore, why do bachelorettes and bridal showers cost so much money? I have served as a bridesmaid several times. No one anticipates you traveling to take a shower.

“I remember my dad suggesting people should offer the option in this situation just to give the friend $600 to not be at the wedding,” a third respondent humorously said in response to the previous statement.

In an attempt to save money, the original advertisement even made light of the idea of breaking up with their pal before the wedding. “This is a part of my grand plan to get uninvited and go viral,” he said.

The post has received an astounding 6 million views since it was shared.
