Watch: Heroes From Dubai Dash Into Floodwaters To Save A Cat Hiding Into A Car

The severe thunderstorms that have been plaguing the United Arab Emirates have resulted in the most rainfall ever recorded in a matter of hours. Major disruptions were caused around the nation by flash floods that were caused by the rain. Roads, highways, and even Dubai’s crowded international airport had to shut down due to flooding, which also affected the city’s Metro stations. However, many workers remained at home and schools were closed.

Emergency personnel have been navigating flooded streets to rescue those who are stuck throughout the scenario. In the middle of the mayhem, rescuers saw a cute moment on tape when they saw a cat securely gripping a vehicle door as the water level rose. Once the cat was safe, it peered over the side of the boat to see the vast seas around the little craft.

An original video of a black and white cat gripping the automobile door handle was posted on Dubai Media Office’s Instagram account. The cat was surrounded by deep water, and it seemed scared. In a little inflatable boat, a policeman navigates the water to get to the trapped animal and makes an effort to bring it to safety. The scared cat, however, finds it difficult to comprehend that it is being saved from the floodwater. After a while, the authorities are able to drag the animal and get the cat into the boat so they can continue the rescue effort.

After being shared on Instagram, the video soon gained over a million views. While some people on social media are applauding the government authorities for their attempts to save the cat, others are worried about the welfare of the animal.

One person commented on the post, saying, “Poor baby is terrified.”

“Men saving cats from floods makes me smile and gives me hope,” said another commenter.

“Oh poor thing, I’m so happy they rescued the cat. A reader said, “So many people overlook all the animals that are impacted by everything that is going on on this planet.”

“There are always so many good people in the world, no matter what happens,” someone wrote.

“Beautiful man for valuing every life,” said someone else.

Another person said, “I bet the cat owns that car, they be rich like that in Dubai,” with a humorous touch.

The Associated Press reports that on Monday, Dubai had strong rainfall, with a total of around 20 millimeters (0.79 inches) of rain falling. Tuesday morning saw the storms become stronger and stay that way all day, bringing more rain and storms to the city. The capital city of the United Arab Emirates is said to have had two years’ worth of rain in a matter of hours.
