Watch: This Truck Driver’s ‘Too Cool’ Desi Jugaad To Beat The Heat

India is experiencing intense summer heatwaves in several parts of the country, with some sections seeing temperatures over 45 degrees Celsius. Heat stress is a possibility due to the extreme and extended heat, especially for those who don’t have access to air conditioning to get comfort inside. To make ends meet, the great majority of people must labor in intense heat. Having said that, everything in India has a jugaad. Recently, a truck driver was seen going above and beyond to beat the heat.

The video, which was uploaded to the microblogging site X (now known as Twitter), begins with a truck driver driving on an obviously hot day. What distinguishes it, however, is his desi jugaad. The driver decides to use a jug and a bucket to continuously saturate himself in water to beat the heat since it seems that the truck lacks air conditioning. It’s obvious that “India is not for beginners.”

The post said, “Kitna mushqil hota hoga 45–50° par bus ya truck chalana,” in the caption.

More than 5,000 people watched the video on the social networking site.

The astute proposal made viewers giggle, even though everyone understood how difficult it is to endure the heat.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that a heatwave is expected to affect the East and South Peninsulas of India during the next five days. However, it is expected that certain isolated areas of Northeast India could see heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and high winds today.

Over the next 24 hours, the maximum temperatures across Northwest and East India are expected to rise steadily by 2-4°C, with no significant change in the forecast. But, Central India could see a rise in maximum temperatures of 4-6°C over the course of the next day or two; beyond that, there shouldn’t be any significant changes.

Concerns about being vulnerable to heatwaves increased when the IMD issued a warning about high temperatures in April and June, which happened to coincide with the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections. El Niño conditions were still present but were receding.
