Bihar Lok Sabha Election 2024: Will the BJP juggernaut continue to roll, or will the Congress regain control in Madhubani?

There are forty Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, and Madhubani is one of them in the 2024 Bihar Lok Sabha election. The Madhubani Lok Sabha seat was shared by the Congress, BJP, and Communist Party before the 2009 Lok Sabha elections. But ever then, the saffron party has remained unquestionably dominant in the constituency, taking the seat three times in a row in the elections of 2009, 2014, and 2019.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Ashok Kumar Yadav of the BJP defeated Badri Kumar Purbey of the regional Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) by an overwhelming majority of 4,54,940 votes, securing the seat for the saffron brigade.

With an average voter participation of 53.72 percent, Yadav received an overwhelming 5,95,843 votes, while Purbey managed only 1,40,903 votes.

Phase 5 of the Lok Sabha polls will see elections for the Madhubani Lok Sabha seat on May 20, 2024. Results will be announced on June 4 after the vote count.

About the Lok Sabha Constituency of Madhubani
Over the last fifteen years, the governing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is now again in power in Bihar, has won three straight elections and established a stronghold in the Madhubani Lok Sabha seat.

In the Bihar Lok Sabha Election of 2024, the opposition Congress, which previously had control in the district, will be attempting to reclaim their supremacy. The saffron party seems certain to hold the Madhubani seat for the fourth consecutive parliamentary election.

From April 19 to June 1, 2024, there will be seven phases of the Lok Sabha Elections, including elections for the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar. The Election Commission has indicated that results will be released and votes tallied on June 4.
