On Sunday, M K Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, and Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, announced that they will both be in attendance when projects honouring the late DMK president M Karunanidhi are inaugurated in Tiruvarur on June 20.

‘Kalaignar Kottam’ and ‘Muthuvelar’ Library, both erected in Karunanidhi’s home Tiruvarur district, would be officially opened by Kumar and Yadav, respectively, according to Stalin.

In Tamil, a memorial structure is referred to as a “kottam” (memorial building).

The DMK leader urged party members to show up in large numbers for the event on June 20 in a letter. A monument of Stalin’s father, a former chief minister, will be unveiled during the occasion, which will also mark Karunanidhi’s centennial.
