Over 1.7 lakh Teachers Will Be Hired by BPSC for Bihar Public Schools

On Tuesday, the recruiting procedure for more than 1.70 lakh teachers in Bihar’s government schools started. These have reserved 50% of the positions for women. The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) will start collecting applications for the employment of teachers on June 15 on its official website, bpsc.bih.in. The deadline for applications is July 12. The new recruiting rules will be followed for Bihar teachers in 2023, and competent candidates will be hired as permanent instructors after passing a centralized test conducted by BPSC.

In accordance with the most recent BPSC notice, the Teachers Recruitment Exam (TRE) will be conducted on August 19, 20, 26, and 27 in order to hire 1,70,461 school teachers. The results of the offline-mode exam will be made available by December.

Permanent residents of Bihar may register for the recruitment test on the BPSC website beginning on June 15. In contrast to candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), women, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD), male applicants from the general category and Other Backward Classes (OBC) must pay an online application fee of Rs 200.

The Bihar cabinet adopted the revised service guidelines handbook for teachers working for government schools on April 10. On May 2, at a meeting held in Patna, the Bihar cabinet, headed over by chief minister Nitish Kumar, granted its permission for the employment of 1,78,026 employees to fill unfilled teaching jobs in the state. However, in order to fill 1,70,461 positions, the BPSC is planning a recruiting drive.

Who would be given preference while hiring teachers in Bihar?

1. Priority will be given to applicants who have previously registered and submitted applications.

2- The qualifications for STET and CTET have been established for the recruitment of new teachers in Bihar.

3. Teachers who want to teach computer-related courses are not required to have a BEd.

4- Students who are enrolled in their last year of B.Ed.-D.El.Ed. will also be eligible to take the test. Its cap has been set until August 31, 2023.
