When her Rs 35 disappears, a Bihar teacher brings her kids to a shrine to make a vow

PATNA: A female teacher working at a primary school in the Banka district was moved by the education department on Friday. It was said that she had forced all of the students to swear in the name of God that they had not taken the Rs. 35 from her purse by dragging them to a nearby temple.
After the locals raised a fuss on the school grounds the next day and voiced their strong objections to the teacher’s actions, the authorities took action.

According to reliable sources, schoolteacher Neetu Kumari requested one of the kids to carry a water bottle from her handbag when the class arrived at the school in Asmanichak hamlet in Rajaun block on Wednesday. Soon later, she noticed that Rs. 35 was missing from her handbag and asked the pupils about it. She brought all the kids to a neighboring temple and ordered them to swear by the gods when none of them could come up with a credible explanation for her missing money, according to sources.
She was the only teacher on duty that day, and there were 122 children in the school. Just two instructors work at the school.
On Thursday, the local residents and child-parents requested that the educator be held accountable, failing which they would not let the school to continue operating.
Block education officer (BEO) Kumar Pankaj told TOI on Friday, “It is improper to suspect any student this way,” and said that the instructor has been moved.
Neetu, the instructor, said that she simply asked the pupils about her missing money. She claimed, “The students themselves rushed to the nearby temple to swear before the deities,” adding that the villagers’ intrusion into the school grounds and subsequent disturbance had stunned and broken her. “I have spent the last eighteen years as a teacher at this school. She questioned, “How can I doubt my own students?” But she still hasn’t located her pilfered cash.
According to Mukhiya Anupam Kumari, it is unfair for a teacher to act in this way. “The locals harbor animosity against one another because of this occurrence. Parents and teachers are invited to a meeting on Saturday.”
