50 additional Boeing 737 MAX aircraft will be added to Air India Express over the following 15 months

50 new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft will be added to Air India Express’ fleet over the following 15 months. In his weekly address to the team, AIX Connect Managing Director Aloke Singh made this statement.

“A total of 50 new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft will join the LCC fleet over the course of the next 15 months, enabling us to expand our network to new locations and boost flights on current routes. The readiness for using this capacity is now our main concern. In different levels of training, we have already welcomed more than 800 aircrew and other operational people,” he said.

The first Airbus 320 aircraft, he said, has been running services under the IX code since it was transferred under the Air India Express AOC.

“One Boeing 737 NG is deployed on domestic route, operating to Guwahati, Imphal, and Lucknow ex-Delhi/Mumbai,” added Singh.

“There is an interline agreement in place that allows customers to plan a single route across IX and 15 networks. A code-share with Al enables the selling of 15 domestic sectors as a component of an Air India itinerary, according to Singh.

According to Singh, the development agenda advances once the integration basis is in place. We received the first two Boeing 737 MAX airplanes in September.

The aircraft were transported from the Boeing delivery airport in Seattle, USA, to MROS in India, where they are being prepared for commercial flights, by our own pilots with the assistance of the engineering team, he added.
