Apple iPhone Exports From India Increased By 100% During Fiscal Year 2023–2024: Report

Apple’s iPhone shipments from India were reported to have doubled to $12.1 billion in the fiscal year 2023–2024. It was $6.27 billion in the previous fiscal year, according to The Trade Vision. India exported $16.5 billion worth of smartphones in total in 2023–2024, up from $12 billion in the previous fiscal year. This demonstrates Apple’s existence and the significant influence it has had on the Indian manufacturing sector. According to the statistics, Apple’s iPhone shipments from India increased dramatically in the fiscal year 2023–2024 by about 100%. According to Trade Vision LLC, this startling increase highlights the significant contribution India has made to Apple’s expansion in the global supply chain.

This demonstrates that among the reasons Apple chose to locate its manufacturing operations in India were the necessity to diversify its supply chain, minimize the risk of geopolitical unrest, and take advantage of the country’s expanding consumer market. “Initiatives like the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme introduced by the Indian government have further incentivized companies like Apple to invest in local manufacturing,” said Monica Oberoi, vice president of sales and marketing at The Trade Vision LLC. The trade intelligence firm claims that the introduction of iPhones manufactured in India into the American market represents a significant advancement in Apple’s deliberate relocation of its worldwide manufacturing base to India.

According to sources, the USA was India’s top importer of smartphones in the fiscal year 2023–2024, with imports coming to a total of almost $6 billion. Of these devices, $5.46 billion is imported into the United States from India by way of Apple iPhones. The data indicates that there has been a significant rise from the $2.1 billion reported in the fiscal year 2022–2023; this suggests that American customers are becoming more and more receptive to iPhones manufactured in India.

Apple made the decision in 2021 to diversify its manufacturing of Mac, iPad, and iPhone products outside of China. In order to bolster its positions abroad, it made the decision to establish facilities in Vietnam and India in order to diversify its manufacturing lines and increase output of the iPhone and iPad.
