The Triumph Trident 660 Special Edition Is Here: What’s New?

The Trident 660 – Trident Triple Tribute special edition has been revealed by Triumph Motorcycles.

This limited edition honors the original Slippery Sam 750 cc Trident racing bike, which helped Triumph win five straight Isle of Man TT races as well as several short circuit races in the 1970s.

The UK is now able to purchase the new limited edition livery for the Trident 660, and there is no additional cost beyond the original price. According to Autocar, the Trident Triple Tribute boasts a distinctive paint job that is mostly white and blue with traces of red.

It’s interesting to note that the top of the tank and both of its sides have the design for the number 67. Mechanically speaking, the 660cc, inline three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that generates 81 horsepower and 64 Nm of torque is still present in the special edition Triumph Trident 660.

It now includes a 6-speed gearbox and a bidirectional fast shifter, which was an optional item on the first model. The tubular frame of the motorbike is stabilized by a mono-shock with preload adjustment and a Showa USD fork. Its brakes are provided by two 310mm front discs and one 255mm rear disc.

A few riding aids are available on the Trident, and they may be accessed via the color TFT display. They consist of the Road and Rain riding modes. Turn-by-turn navigation, all-LED illumination, and auto-cancelling indicators are extra features.

The Rocket 3 Storm R, GT is the most powerful model that Triumph India, a British brand, has been introducing to its lineup. The least expensive large-capacity motorcycle on the market is Triumph’s basic Trident 660, which retails for Rs 8.12 lakh, ex-showroom, in India.

In the UK, the Tribute edition costs the same as the standard Trident; however, it’s not certain whether this will continue in India.

Triumph India debuted the Trident 660 in April 2021; at Rs 6,95,000 (introductory, ex-showroom), it is the most cheap motorbike in the nation.

A brand-new, 660cc liquid-cooled inline three-cylinder engine that satisfies Euro 5/BS6 requirements powers the Triumph Trident 660 technically.

It generates 81 horsepower at 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm at 6,250 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch is coupled to the engine.
