UIDAI update: Learn how to alter your address and the extended deadline for updating your Aadhaar data online

Aadhaar Card ‘free’ document updates have an extended deadline of March 14, 2024, which is already three months away. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) had originally set December 14 as the deadline. The government agency has recommended that individuals should file for document revisions if they need to change the address on their Aadhaar card.

“Office memorandum” issued by UIDAI stated: “It is decided to extend the facility for 3 more months, i.e. from 15.12.2023 to 14.03.2024, based on the positive response from the residents.” As a result, till March 14, 2024, the document updating feature will be available for free via the myAadhaar portal at myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.”

Updates may be made in both online and offline modes. In order to finish the update while offline, you need to visit an Aadhaar center. For that, there will be a service charge of Rs 50.
How To Freely Upload Address Proof:

Enter your information to log in at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ and choose “Name, Gender, Date of Birth, and Address Update.”
Select the “Update Aadhaar Online” option.
Select an address using the demographic feature, then hit “Update Aadhaar.”
Add a scanned copy of the file and fill in the other necessary fields.
Pay the amount due. (Applicable from now till September 14)
You may now store the service request number that is created for further use.
How to Monitor Requests for Updates:
A URN (Update Request Number) will be sent to you upon the submission of your UID card address update request. Your screen will show the URN number, and an SMS will be sent to the registered mobile phone. Go to https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/checkSSUPStatus/checkupdatestatus to monitor the progress of your Aadhaar card update.
Update on Aadhaar Cards: How to make the address current

Step 1: Go to https://www.uidai.gov.in/ to access the official UIDAI website.
Step 2: Next, locate the ‘My Aadhaar’ option.
Step 3: From the menu, choose “Update Your Aadhaar”.
Step 4: Next, choose “update demographics data online” from the list of options.
Step 5: Your screen will display the updated Aadhaar Card self-service portal interface.
Step 6: At this point, choose the “Proceed to update Aadhaar” option.
Step 7 If prompted, provide the number from your UID card to complete the captcha verification.
Step 8: After that, choose “Send OTP.”
Step 9: The registered mobile number will get an OTP.
Step 10: Following OTP verification, choose the “Update Demographics Data” option.
Step 11: Use the “address” option to make adjustments at this point.

Step 13: Fill up the details for your new address so that your Aadhaar card will reflect it.
Step 14: A scanned copy of the supporting documentation should be submitted.
Choose “Proceed” in Step 15.

Step 18: Verify the service using an OTP.
Step 19: Download the application and save your work.
Step 20: Use the URN to monitor the progress of address updates.
How to change your Aadhaar card’s mobile number online

Go to uidai.gov.in, the UIDAI website.
Once you’ve entered the phone number you want to update, type the captcha in the corresponding spaces.
Choose “Send OTP” and enter the text message OTP into your phone number.
After that, choose “Submit OTP and Proceed.”
On the screen that appears, there will be a drop-down menu with the name “Online Aadhaar Services.” Click on the one you want to edit. Choose that option and provide the necessary data to update the cellphone number.
Once the cellphone number has been entered, a new page will appear. A captcha must now be entered. This will result in an OTP being sent to your phone. Once the OTP has been verified, click “Save and Proceed”.
Schedule a visit online and go to the nearest Aadhaar center.
Within ninety days, your current cellphone number will be added to the database.
