What is the PhonePe App and How Can Indian Users Use It To Make UPI Payments In The United Arab Emirates?

With the ongoing expansion of UPI payments into other nations, Indian consumers have even more reasons to be excited about this digital payment solution. This week, PhonePe announced that users of its mobile app may make UPI payments whether traveling to the United Arab Emirates or when traveling from there to India.

Although Paytm, Google Pay, and even WhatsApp allow UPI payments, PhonePe has jumped ahead of its competitors with this revelation. With PhonePe, customers just need to create a four-digit UPI PIN in order to authorize UPI payments. After that, they can sign in with only their cellphone number, which is linked directly to their bank account.

HOW IT WORKS FOR UPI PAYMENT BYPHONE IN THE UAE
PhonePe and Mashreq are collaborating to develop a payment solution in the United Arab Emirates for customers. These customers may use the PhonePe app to rapidly make payments by scanning the QR code on the NEOPAY terminals.

If you have previously used PhonePe and are planning a trip to the UAE in the next few weeks, all you need to do is pay by scanning the QR code that is found in many retail stores and tourist attractions. Your bank account will be debited in Indian rupees for the UPI payment, and you will also get the exchange rate value.

Indian nationals living in the United Arab Emirates may also take advantage of this service, as they can use their UAE mobile number to login into PhonePe and connect their Non-Resident External (NRE) bank account to make the payment.

Because to the National Payment Corporation of India’s (NPCI) partnerships with international payment organizations, UPI has become available in more countries. The rapid and safe UPI payment service is now available to anyone who lives in or is visiting the United Arab Emirates.
