Anjaan, starring Suriya, will have its edited version rereleased in theaters after ten years

In recent years, it has been customary to re-release South Asian films in order to introduce them to a new generation of viewers. This is true for both financially successful and failed motion pictures. What did not work years ago could succeed now, according to several directors. Paiyaa, starring Karthi and Tamannaah Bhatia, was recently re-released in theaters to positive reviews. The majority of the action in the road movie took place on the way from Mumbai to Chennai. Director N. Lingusamy announced the re-release of Anjaan, one of his films, at the Paiyaa showing.

Suriya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu played the key parts in Anjaan. Back in 2014, Anjaan was expected to be one of Suriya’s greatest hits, but it was a financial and critical failure. Because of the excitement, Anjaan had a strong opening, but sales began to decline on the second day. Director N. Lingasamy was the focus of internet trolls for a comment he had made before the film’s release, which led to the film’s failure two years after it was released.

During an Anjaan promotional event, Lingasamy said that he had adapted to the film’s storyline and used all of the knowledge he had accumulated over the years in the film industry. After Anjaan failed, social media quickly became the center of memes mocking him for his remarks.

For this reason, the filmmaker has chosen to re-release Anjaan with significant editing changes. He said that he would cut out the moments that drew the most criticism after considering the unfavorable comments. He thinks Anjaan’s trimmed version will do better at the box office. The movie’s premiere date has not yet been disclosed. It’s noteworthy to remember that Suriya made his playback singing debut in Anjaan, with the song “Ek Do Teen.”
