Benjamin Walker and Kaya Scodelario are no longer together

Benjamin Walker and Kaya Scodelario have made the decision to part ways. After almost eight years of marriage, the 31-year-old former Skins actress and the 41-year-old Tony-nominated actor parted ways last year.

“Some time ago, Kaya and Ben decided to end their marriage but continue to co-parent lovingly while staying the best of friends,” a spokesman told PEOPLE when asked for comment.As they go as a family, they want their privacy and that of their kids to be respected.”
The two British celebrities were married in December 2015 and have a boy who is seven years old and a daughter who is two years old.
Although they avoided drawing attention to their private life, Scodelario last shared an Instagram photo of the two in September 2022. The pair smiled and stood next one other at a Tuscan wedding.
Walker and Scodelario first got together in 2014 while shooting The King’s Daughter. After what started as a brief acquaintance, the pair had been engaged before the end of the year.
The actor from The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and the star of the forthcoming Netflix series The Gentlemen tied the knot in December 2015 after a year-long engagement. Scodelario shared a picture of their cake topper, which featured a man, a woman, and a French bulldog that looked like their pet, on Instagram to announce the wedding at the time.
She announced her engagement in 2019. I had no heirlooms from my family. Since I never received any inheritance, my husband bought me a Cartier Love bracelet for our first Christmas together after we fell in love,” she said. “He claims that it was then that he realized he wanted to buy me an engagement ring, thus he weirdly proposed with a love bangle.”
After a year of marriage, the couple had their first child in December 2016.
When they had their second child in January 2022, their family grew. The news was announced on Instagram by the Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City actress, who posted a picture of herself holding the baby with Walker standing nearby grinning at the camera.
Scodelario wrote, “You made it here, little one,” as the photo’s caption. “Starting the new year with so much love in our hearts & in our home.”
Mamie Gummer, the daughter of Meryl Streep, and Walker were previously wed from 2011 to 2013.
