Bigg Boss celebrity from Kanada in police custody for unauthorized adoption

The Byadarahalli police have detained 29-year-old social media influencer and Kannada Bigg Boss star Sonu Srinivas Gowda, also known as Shambhavi, on suspicion of forcibly adopting an eight-year-old girl from Raichur.

Sonu is accused of disobeying the laws and guidelines that must be adhered to in order to adopt a kid. The adopter and the adoptee must be at least 25 years apart in order to comply with the regulations. The actress has also been scheduled to appear after revealing the child’s identify on social media.

The police filed a complaint against Sonu, a Syndicate Layout resident, at around nine o’clock on Thursday night. J Geetha of Bengaluru West’s Child Protection Unit submitted the complaint.

According to S Girish, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), the actress is charged with revealing the girl’s identify in social media postings. She was taken into custody early on Friday.

In a social media post published on March 2, Sonu claimed to have visited the girl’s home in Raichur and adopted her in front of her parents. Her issue started with this post. Sonu had not applied for any adoptions, as per the complaint.

When questioned by authorities, the actress maintained her innocence by saying the child had only been with her for two weeks and that she was unaware of the adoption process. Sonu said that the girl’s parents were employed as laborers on the building site close to her apartment. She used to feed stray dogs and the girl got to know her. After that, the girl began visiting her apartment, and they became closer over time.

The girl’s and her parents’ comments have been recorded by Child Welfare Committee (CWC) representatives. The girl was placed in their care until the investigation was finished. The youngster will most likely be returned to her parents.

Sonu has been charged under several sections of the Indian Penal Code in addition to the Juvenile Justice Act. Investigations are ongoing.
