Chris Hemsworth Remembers Getting Turned Down for a Part He “Loved” by Kevin Costner

Hollywood actor Chris Hemsworth, best known for playing Thor in the Marvel movies, has a number of intriguing projects coming out soon. Hemsworth has been cast in the animated Transformers One movie from Paramount Pictures, reuniting with Scarlett Johansson, his co-star from Marvel Studios. Chris Hemsworth recently engaged in a fascinating chat and revealed a thrilling tidbit ahead of the film’s release. At CinemaCon, Hemsworth shared a story he wanted to collaborate on with Kevin Costner but the director himself rejected, accompanied by his Transformers One co-star Brian Tyree Henry.

Hemsworth revealed to the publication that he attempted to persuade Costner to take the position, but the filmmaker ultimately decided to cast himself in the role.

“I’d read and loved this script for a movie and thought, ‘I want to get that.’ Then someone told me that Kevin Costner had it.'” He would be an amazing director. I thought, “Goddamnit!” [The other day, after I tried to talk him into it for an hour, he said, “I’m doing it, kid.”. “I didn’t get the role,” the performer said.

He went on to say that the movie was “abstract and interesting,” with a tiny plot centered on a guy and a lady.

Regarding taking Chris Hemsworth’s place, Costner said, “As long as I’m still young enough, I’ll play it.”

However, Costner also made a joke about the event in an interview with ET on Tuesday. “As long as I’m still young enough to play it, I’ll play it,” the director said, stating that Hemsworth will have to wait for his time.

The Marvel star was the subject of several positive remarks from the filmmaker.

“He’s very talented and really attractive. It will be up to him to go discover his own romantic tale. Glad he likes this one, myself. I would get in touch with him if I came to the conclusion that I couldn’t do it. He’s undoubtedly one of our best leading males at the moment, Costner said.

Both the actor and the director avoided giving away any information about the movie under consideration throughout the discussions.

Chris Hemsworth has revealed the title of his next movie, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, in addition to his impending return to theaters with the next Paramount animated picture. The actor revealed the film’s poster and the date of its release, which is May 24, 2024.
