Police are looking into “anti-national elements” in the Salman Khan fire case and claim that a Bisnoi gang intended to incite violence in Mumbai

The Mumbai Police have disclosed that they are investigating the possibility that anti-national elements operating outside of India are providing financial and weaponry support to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. This is a recent development in their investigation into the firing incident outside Salman Khan’s house.
Vicky Gupta (24), Sagar Pal (21), and Anuj Thapan (32) are the three suspects who the Crime Branch of the city police, which is in charge of the investigation into the shooting, brought before a judge on Monday.

They were placed under police arrest until May 8 by the court. The case’s main suspects are Lawrence Bishnoi, who is being held in the Sabarmati Central Prison in Ahmedabad, and his younger brother Anmol, who is said to be living in the US or Canada.
Anmol had already taken credit for the shooting in a Facebook post, but further research showed that the IP address associated with the post came from Portugal. Authorities are investigating whether the gang had support from anti-national elements overseas, including financial and armament support, given the scope of Bishnoi’s criminal network, according to the police’s detention application.

Investigators are also eager to learn where the guns used by the suspected gunmen in the most recent incident came from. According to an official, “Police were also investigating the source of the weapons supplied to the alleged shooters in the present case.”
He also claimed that there was a scheme including “terror” and “extortion.” “Investigators believe that the Bishnoi gang wanted to create terror in Mumbai, the financial capital of the country, and were probing if the gang members had tried to extort money from businesspersons, film actors, and builders in the city,” he said.
The NIA was involved in the early phases of the investigations, according to news that surfaced last month about the police’s possible probe into an international link in the case.
