Munawar Faruqui recently made news after the Mumbai Police arrested him after raiding a hookah establishment in the Fort neighbourhood. After being questioned briefly, the comedian was allowed to go. However, he may still be charged under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act of 2003 for using tobacco hookah while pretending to be herbal. Notwithstanding this, Munawar made his official debut on March 28 at the ‘Patna Shukla’ screening, coming in style.

Wearing all black, Munawar walked the red carpet with a laid-back but chic look. At the screening, he made poses with Arhaan Khan while wearing loose trousers and a shirt. Arhaan, on the other hand, was seen sporting a hat, blue pants, and a maroon t-shirt.

Munawar and several others were taken into custody by the Mumbai Police on March 26 after a late-night raid at the Sabalan hookah parlour in Fort, South Mumbai. They were reportedly using hookahs that were supposedly made of tobacco but looked like herbal alternatives. Munawar may be charged under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act if the accusations prove to be true. In addition, officials claim that during the investigation, they seized nine hookah pots worth a combined total of Rs 13,500 and Rs 4,400 in cash.
