Ryan Gosling’s residence is a Barbie “Avalanche”

Before landing the role of Ken, Hollywood actor Ryan Gosling claims his home was overrun by a “avalanche” of Barbie-related items.

The ‘Drive’ actor, 42, who shares daughters Esmeralda, 7, and Amada, 5, with his actress wife Eva Mendes, 49, plays Barbie’s airhead boyfriend alongside Margot Robbie, 33, in the title role in Greta Gerwig’s new ‘Barbie’ movie. He claimed that he felt like the character as soon as he found one of his children’s Ken dolls abandoned in their garden, according to aceshowbiz.com.

At the movie’s European premiere at London’s Cineworld in Leicester Square, he continued,

“Barbie the doll and the movie both arrived at my home at the same time. I simply had to accept it like if it were a Barbie avalanche. I picked up a Ken doll one day in the backyard, and the next thing I knew, I was him.

The project had taken director Greta, 39, and her writing partner Noah Baumbach, 53, on an emotional rollercoaster, she acknowledged during the premiere.

“I feel this ever-present wave of like, ‘Oh no, I’m going to cry,’ and then I’m like, ‘Don’t cry, it’s only amazing,'” she said. Although it’s great, there is a lot of energy involved.

Greta said It was a pleasure to collaborate with Mattel, the company that created Barbie, who said, “I honestly can’t believe they let us make this movie, but they were really brave and they really allowed us to have creative freedom with their beloved brands.”
