Shark Tank India 3: Peyush Bansal remarks, “Apne jitne clarity se Physics Wallah ka business samjhaya, apna nahi samjha paaye,” as the sharks get frustrated with an EdTech company for continually disparaging their rivals

The most recent episode of Shark Tank India season 3 opens with students using a platform named “Competishun” to prepare for JEE/NEET. Neeraj Saini, Mohit Kumar Tyagi, and Amit Bijarnia—the brand’s co-founders—made an appearance on the programme. An Ed-Tech portal called “Competishun” aids students in getting ready for the JEE and NEET examinations. They begin by discussing the negative perception of ad-tech platforms, whose primary goal is to make money, and how they fail to consider the requirements of students.

They have spent the past three years working on their platform, and they have almost 20 years of experience in the industry. Competishun charges Rs 30,000 for online tutoring, whereas offline coaching charges Rs 3,00,000 for the same education.
The Sharks are astonished by their request for Rs 2 crore for 1% equity. Anupam questioned the three on their claim that other Ad-Tech businesses are driven only by profit. If they don’t want to go in the same direction, he asked about their approach and how they want to make money back on their investment. With confidence, Mohit Kumar Tyagi states on his YouTube account that they have one million followers. Aman cuts him off, pointing out that the other businesses have upwards of 20 million. Vineeta interrupted Mohit as he was trying to defend their platform’s emphasis on serious education as opposed to shayari and poetry, voicing her dissatisfaction.
Vineeta said that their engagement approach includes emphasising poetry and shayari. She compared it to “Shark Tank,” emphasising how entertainment can teach the general public about business and its jargon. Vineeta highlighted the interdependence and complementarity of education and enjoyment. Anupam requests that they demonstrate how their company approach is unique. There were 2,055 pupils from Competishun that got accepted to IIT in 2023. They employ around 18 faculty members and launched their firm in 2020.
Vineeta challenges their philosophy, questioning why they are moving in the same path if they are so opposed to profit-driven Ad-Tech enterprises. The trio’s persistent attempts to disparage the other Ad-Tech businesses quickly irritate the Sharks. Azhar asks, in fact, “Aapko kabhi aisa laga ke baaki log bhi kuch kaam ka kaam kar rahe hain, ke aap he log sab kar rahe ho?” . According to Amit Bajarnia, PW (Physics Wallah) is operating well. Mohit describes their company to the Sharks when they inquire about Physics Wallah. Peyush responds, “Apne jitne clarity se Physics Wallah ka business samjhaya, apna nahi samjha paaye.” Peyush becomes irritated and instructs Mohit and Physics Wallah to mind their own business as they keep making fun of the subject. Azhar and Peyush both leave the deal.
Aman, on the other hand, remarks on his turn that it seems they launched this company during a period of “FOMO.” He states, “Saare teachers aajkal paisa kama rahe hain, toh hum bhi kama lenge.” According to Anupam, he was unable to comprehend how their business module differed from others. They are everywhere, he claims. They get no bargain.
