Tom Cruise “Hires Hawks” To Prevent Pigeon Menace On Mission Impossible 8 Set

Fans of Mission: Impossible 8 have already been privy to a number of behind-the-scenes photos, videos, and other secrets. For quite some time, Tom Cruise has been filming his next, and most likely, last, picture as the iconic action hero Ethan Hunt. The 61-year-old actor has been often sighted in the UK in recent months. According to reports, birds interfered with Cruise’s exciting scenes as he was shooting a scene in Trafalgar Square. Three million pigeons call London home, therefore, a source told The Sun that Tom came up with a novel plan to keep them away from the scene.

The action star reportedly “hired hawks,” or birds of prey, to keep pigeons out of his thrilling sequences.

The source said, “It was a brilliant move that meant the scenes were filmed without a hitch.”

Expert falconers accompanied the raptors, prepared to intervene if the pigeons dared to fly away.

According to pictures Tom took while shooting the espionage film, tanks and armored vehicles were positioned at the well-known tourist destination, The Sun said.

It was said that in addition to constructing a brand-new Trafalgar Square Tube station, his team also employed hundreds of extras to play soldiers.

The untitled film, which is most likely going to be called Mission: Impossible—Dead Reckoning Part Two, is scheduled for release on May 23, 2025, after the July release of Dead Reckoning Part One.

Due to the Hollywood writers’ strike, Mission: Impossible 8 was supposed to be out this summer, but it was delayed.

Initially, the eighth feature’s production was postponed to enable the actors to promote Part One; however, more delays were incurred due to the strike.

Mission: Impossible 8 is being directed by Christopher McQuarrie, a seasoned franchise director who has worked with Cruise in the past. Several of the biggest action movies of Cruise’s career, such as Edge of Tomorrow and Top Gun: Maverick, were written by McQuarrie. The 1996 film series Mission: Impossible was based on the same-titled television series that aired in 1966.

In addition to Tom, the eighth installment will also have appearances by Simon Pegg, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Pom Klementieff, and Vanessa Kirby.

Tom made an attempt to extend the runtime of Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One, but the movie did not do as well at the box office as the previous movies in the franchise.
