The Covishield vaccination, which was mostly given in India, may cause low platelet counts, anemia, and other problems.

AstraZeneca said on Tuesday that the advantages of the vaccination “far outweigh” the dangers of “extremely rare” possible adverse effects, in response to the outcry over the vaccine’s negative effects throughout the world.

In response to the controversy surrounding the company’s admission in UK court documents that its COVID-19 vaccine, created in collaboration with Oxford University, may increase the risk of an uncommon and dangerous blood clot, AstraZeneca, a multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company with Swedish and British roots, released a statement to news agency IANS.

The AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine “has continuously been shown to have an acceptable safety profile from the body of evidence in clinical trials and real-world data,” the statement said.

It also said, “Regulators globally consistently assert that vaccination benefits outweigh the risks of extremely rare potential side effects.”

The Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid vaccine is a viral vector vaccine that was created using the modified chimpanzee adenovirus ChAdOx1. It is marketed as Covishield in India and Vaxzevria in Europe.

According to the Telegraph, “AstraZeneca acknowledged that its COVID vaccine ‘can, in very rare cases, cause TTS'” in a court filing given to the UK High Court in February.

Thrombosis People with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS) are prone to blood clots and low platelet counts.

The pharmaceutical company has been sued in 51 instances by the UK High Court on the grounds that their COVID vaccination resulted in death and severe disability. According to the article, the victims’ bereaved families have requested damages in the amount of up to 100 million pounds.

The corporation said that “patient safety is our highest priority” and offered condolences to anyone who lost loved ones or their health as a result of the vaccination.

AstraZeneca expressed its condolences to “anyone who has lost loved ones or reported health problems.”

AstraZeneca created Covishield, which was made by the Serum Institute of India (SII) in Pune and sold under the Covishield brand.
