5. Alachlor: This herbicide is mostly used on maize and soybeans, but it may also contaminate potatoes, carrots, and lettuce. There is evidence that exposure to alachlor raises the risk of cancer, especially in the kidney and liver.
6. Chlorothalonil: This fungicide, which is found on apples, strawberries, and cucumbers, as well as tomatoes and cucumbers, is categorized as a possible human carcinogen. It may lead to long-term health difficulties, breathing troubles, and skin irritation.
7. Methomyl: Tomatoes, grapes, lettuce, and carrots are often exposed to this pesticide. While prolonged exposure to methomyl may cause brain damage, short-term exposure can cause nausea, vomiting, and respiratory distress.
8. Glyphosate: Occurring in a wide range of crops, including genetically modified maize and soybeans, wheat, oats, and other grains, exposure to glyphosate has been linked to endocrine system abnormalities, cancer, and reproductive problems.
