Ameer Balaj Tipu, a notorious figure in Lahore, was fatally murdered at a wedding ceremony

LAHORE: According to sources from a private TV station quoted by Dawn, on February 18, Ameer Balaj Tipu, the owner of a commodities transport network and a notorious figure in the city’s underworld, was shot and killed by an unidentified attacker during a wedding ceremony in the Chung neighborhood.
Tipu, the son of Arif Amir, also known as Tipu Truckanwala, passed away from wounds he received from the gunshot. Tipu himself perished in a deadly assault at the Allama Iqbal airport in 2010.

According to Dawn, there was a long-standing dispute between Balaj’s grandpa and himself, which contributed to the family’s history of violence.
Balaj and two other visitors were shot by the perpetrator, who left them critically injured, according to police accounts. Balaj’s armed comrades reacted swiftly, causing the attacker to be killed instantly.
At Jinnah Hospital, Balaj went dead in spite of attempts to rescue him.

Dawn reports that Balaj’s followers gathered at the hospital to mourn their leader after learning of his passing. While some ladies were seen loudly proclaiming their devotion to Balaj, others were seen thumping their chests and denouncing the offenders.
Balaj’s fans gathered at the hospital to mourn him, filled with grief and rage at his passing. According to Dawn’s sources, several ladies were seen sobbing and pounding their chests, while others angrily declared their allegiance to Balaj and denounced the perpetrators.
After securing the area, law officers began a thorough investigation into the occurrence. Their main objective is to ascertain the cause of the incident and its perpetrator. Reports state that no one has been taken into custody so far. The fact that Ameer Balaj Tipu was regarded as a strong and menacing figure in Lahore’s underworld underscores the gravity of his untimely demise.
