In this airport in Mexico, a man unlocks the emergency exit and climbs up onto the wing of the aircraft, receiving backup from other travelers

MEXICO CITY: In a stunning turn of events, a passenger on an AeroMexico flight to Guatemala City opened the emergency exit and momentarily got onto the aircraft’s wing, stating concerns for everyone’s health and safety. The event, which happened at Mexico City International Airport, has spurred a lot of debate about airline obligations and customer rights.

The event happened on Thursday amid a protracted delay, and the airport confirmed in a statement that the guy had been turned over to police. Though at first seen as an instance of disruptive conduct, the act gained context as other travelers showed their support.

A letter signed by 77 or more passengers that went viral on social media said that the flight AM672’s four-hour delay caused unbearable circumstances inside the plane, including no water or ventilation. The man’s actions were justified by the passengers as a necessary precaution to ensure everyone on board was safe.
Images of the handwritten message, scrawled on a notebook page, highlighted the passengers’ despair. “The passengers’ health was put in jeopardy because to the delay and shortage of air. The statement said, “He saved our lives.”
The account provided by the passengers was confirmed by an incident report issued by the airport authorities. According to the report, there was dissatisfaction among the passengers when flight AM672, which was supposed to take off at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, was delayed because of a mechanical problem. One passenger opened the emergency door and went out onto the wing, which aggravated the situation.

According to the investigation, “one of the passengers opened the emergency door and stepped out on the wing because they were unhappy.” “The plane had to be changed due to this incident.”
Authorities at the airport have not revealed the man’s identify or offered any commentary on his present legal situation.
Websites that monitor flights verified the roughly five-hour delay in the trip. Inside the aircraft, a video shows distressed passengers fanning themselves and asking a flight attendant for water.
To far, AeroMexico has not released a comment in reaction to the event or the claims that patient care was subpar while the plane was delayed.
