Nikki Haley, an Indian American candidate, says she “doesn’t think” Donald Trump will be the GOP nominee

Nikki Haley, an Indian-American running for president, has said that former US president Donald Trump would not be the party’s nominee for the 2024 presidential elections as her campaign gains pace after last month’s Republican primary debate.

According to The Wall Street Journal’s most recent opinion survey, Haley, 51, is third in terms of popularity after Trump and Ron DeSantis. Vivek Ramaswamy, another Indian American candidate, came in fourth.

President Trump won’t be the nominee, in my opinion. I believe I will be the one. But I can assure you that any Republican is doing a better job than Joe Biden and Kamala Harris,” Haley said in an interview with CBS News on Sunday.

RealClearPolitics, which tracks all of the major national polls, reports that Trump leads the pack in the average of all of them with 53.6%, followed by DeSantis (13%), Ramaswamy (7.1%), and Haley (6%).

A vote for President Biden is a vote for Vice President Harris, according to Haley, a former US ambassador to the UN.

“Until he is found guilty, he is innocent. However, you make the implication that Americans are illiterate. A convicted felon will not get the support of the American public. Voters in the United States will choose candidates who have a chance of winning the general election. I believe in the American people,” she said when asked.

They are aware of what must be done. Therefore, I believe that I will always support the Republican nominee. Because we can’t have a President Kamala Harris, we won’t ever be able to retake our nation, she vowed to make sure that we choose someone who will defeat her.

Haley said that she supported term limits for US senators and elected officials. “I wholeheartedly support term limits. Any person above the age of 75 should undergo a mental competence exam, in my opinion. And I don’t say it out of disdain,” she said.

“This man, Mitch McConnell, has rendered outstanding service to the nation. Dianne Feinstein had a successful career. Nancy Pelosi is there and has been for a while. When do they realize it’s time to leave? They must let the next generation to take over, she urged.

“We want to start working for our children right now to ensure that America is secure, that our national security is strong, and that our economic policy is robust. If these people won’t cede their positions of authority, we can’t accomplish it. This issue affects both Republicans and Democrats equally.

“Congress needs to address this issue. They also need to be aware of when to go. It’s time to hand this off to the next group of conservative leaders who want to make our nation better, according to Haley.
