Recovered is the body of the fourth worker killed in the Baltimore bridge collapse

Officials announced on Monday that the corpse of the fourth construction worker who perished in the Baltimore Bridge collapse last month after it was hit by a container ship has been found.

Six road construction workers were killed on March 26 when the Dali container ship lost power and crashed into a support column, causing the Francis Scott Key Bridge, a vital transportation route into the crowded city and port of Baltimore, to collapse.

At the scene of the bridge collapse on Sunday, the corpse of the “fourth missing construction worker” was found, according to the Unified Command of the Key Bridge reaction team.

A statement from the Maryland State Police said that “Unified Command salvage teams located what they believed to be one of the missing construction vehicles and promptly notified” them.

It continued, saying that authorities “responded and located a deceased victim trapped inside the vehicle,” but it gave no more details.

Carlos Daniel Hernandez, a Mexican citizen who had worked on the bridge, has been found dead, according to Alicia Barcena, Mexico’s foreign minister, who made the announcement on Monday.

On the social networking platform X, she said, “Carlos Daniel represents our Mexican workers in the United States.”

Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes, a 35-year-old Mexican national, was another fatality.

His bones, along with those of Guatemalan Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera, 26, were discovered not long after the fall.

Who will foot the bill for the demolished bridge, damaged businesses, and lives lost in the Baltimore bridge collapse?
On April 5, Unified Command said this month, dive crews located the corpse of Maynor Yasir Suazo-Sandoval, a 38-year-old laborer who had gone missing.

In the last seconds before the accident, the 1,000-foot (300-meter) Dali ship was able to send out a Mayday call, giving authorities enough time to halt traffic on the bridge and maybe save lives.

However, the eight-person construction team responsible for fixing the bridge’s potholes was unable to arrive in time and fell into the Patapsco River along with tons of concrete and twisted steel.

Two laborers were saved alive; one was hospitalized for a short while, while the other was unharmed.

According to US media on Monday, the FBI has begun a criminal investigation aimed at the container ship.
