According to Dr. Gopal Berry, director of state health services, incidences of conjunctivitis, sometimes known as the eye flu, are being recorded from various sections of the state. Symptoms include eye redness, stickiness, irritation, and in some cases swelling. According to him, it is a common virus that clears up in three to five days and has no effect on eyesight.

Conjunctivitis sufferers have been recommended by doctors to stay away from busy areas and segregate personal things, such as handkerchiefs, towels, pillows, sheets, and clothing. Additionally, they have encouraged parents to keep sick children home from school for three to five days.
