Ludhiana: Punjab University (PU) organized the BCM College Zonal Skill-in-Teaching and on-the-spot teaching aids preparation competition (Zone A) for social studies, commerce, economics, and physical education pedagogy. The Department of Education (PU) Chairperson, Prof. Satwinderpal Kaur, was welcomed by Principal Dr. Monika Dua as an observer of the occasion.

Satwinderpal Kaur urged the young educators to enhance soft skills like empathy, creativity, and communication in order to succeed in the tech-driven world of the twenty-first century. In the social studies (SSt) category, Shachi Sudhir took first place, Kajal placed second, and Dipika Devi took third place in the skill-in-teaching competition. Jeenia Monga took first place in the commerce category, followed by Reema and Nimrat Kaur. Diksha Vij was awarded a consolation medal. Samiksha Singh took first place in economics, followed by Ayushi Sadhu in second place and Jasleen Kaur in third.

Shama, Tania Kaushal, and Khushbu Yadav secured the first, second, and third positions in physical education, respectively. Anshika, Chandani, and Ankush Sharma earned first, second, and third, respectively, for SSt in the teaching aid preparation competition. Sakshi, Khushboo Panday, and Namita Kasuhal took first, second, and third place in the commerce category, respectively. Simran Kaur took first place in economics, followed by Manisha and Neha Devial in second and third place. Diksha won first place and Bhupinder Singh came in second in physical education.

The Ryan International School

In partnership with Dr. PS Grover, a dental check-up camp was held for the children of Ryan International School, Dugri, to educate them about the value of maintaining excellent oral health. The camp’s objectives were to monitor, control, and uphold the kids’ dental health and to raise knowledge of oral cleanliness and health.

Innovative Public School Drishti

Class I and II pupils of Drishti Dr R C Jain Innovative Public School went on a field trip to a wheat field. The purpose of the field excursion was to introduce the pupils to Punjab’s harvest festival, Baisakhi. The pupils were escorted to farms in the area. They gained knowledge of the process involved in growing and gathering wheat on the field. They then went to the gristmill to see the procedure used to turn wheat seeds into flour. Regarding the wheat crop and its development, the kids received education and sensitization. For the kids, it was a vibrant, green, alive, and enlightening experience.
