Candidates on temples run on Ram Navami to win over votes

On the festival of Ram Navami, Congressman and Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha candidate Jai Prakash Agarwal and BJP candidate Praveen Khandelwal asked for blessings as the election struggle intensified in the nation’s capital.

“Today, on the significant festival of Ram Navami, we visited Gauri Shankar Mandir to pay our respects to Lord Rama, Mata Sita, Laxman, Durga Mata, Lord Gauri Shankar, and Khatushyam,” said Jai Prakash Agarwal, the Congress’ candidate for Lok Sabha, on Wednesday.

Agarwal further emphasized the lack of progress during the BJP’s government and pledged to solve the several problems the Chandni Chowk parliamentary seat faces. “The people of Chandni Chowk feel neglected and resentful over the last ten years due to the BJP’s neglect,” he said.

Raised in Chandni Chowk, Agarwal emphasized his strong ties to the neighbourhood. “I’ve lived in Chandni Chowk my whole life, so I know the struggles the locals face,” he said. As the previous member of parliament for this district, I’m dedicated to rekindling growth and meeting the needs of all societal groups.

BJP candidate Khandelwal, on the other hand, said, “I was reminded of Lord Rama’s values of truth, justice, and righteousness after offering my prayers at the revered Hanuman Temple.” “I am committed to serving the people of Chandni Chowk with integrity and dedication, inspired by his teachings,” he said.

Khandelwal later went to Mangolpuri to witness a mass wedding ceremony where 11 couples exchanged vows. In modern culture, mass weddings are more significant. In addition to celebrating love, we address important concerns like dowries and excessive fees by enabling these unions. The way the community is pulling together to help these young couples is encouraging,” he said. He emphasized the need of empower women once again and applauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s actions in this regard.
