Notes from the campus: Conversation with Dr. BR Ambedkar

At Revel Dale Public School, a discussion with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, if he were still living today, was dramatized. A school kid acted as Dr. Ambedkar in this debate, and he was questioned about how he thought India’s modern constitution was implementing the ideals he had envisioned.

Dr. Ambedkar responded by discussing the pervasive caste, religious, racial, and gender discrimination in our society. Dr. Ambedkar exhorted the youth to appreciate India’s multiplicity and diversity in this dramatized debate. He also spoke to the school’s female pupils, inspiring them to reach their full potential. He fervently urged them to persist in their attempts to get admission to our nation’s top universities, such as IIT, IIM, and medical schools, where the proportion of female students is much lower than that of male students.
