UGC Rescheduled NET for THIS Date to Prevent Conflict With UPSC Prelims: Examine Specifics Below

UGC Postpones NET: In order to avoid conflicting with the UPSC preliminary test, the UGC has decided to postpone the National Eligibility Test (NET). As of right now, the National Eligibility Test (NET) will take place on June 18, as UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar said on Monday.

After obtaining candidate comments, a choice was made. On a single day, NTA would conduct UGC-NET in OMR format across India.

The UGC-NET will now take place on June 18, 2024, a Tuesday, instead of June 16, as previously scheduled. This decision was made by the National Testing Agency and UGC in response to complaints from applicants over the exam’s conflict with PMS. In a single day, NTA will conduct UGC-NET in OMR format across India, according to Kumar.

Indian citizens may take the UGC-NET test to see whether they qualify for one of three programs offered by Indian universities and colleges: “admission to PhD only,” “appointment as an assistant professor and admission to PhD,” or “award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as an assistant professor.”

“The National Testing Agency and UGC have decided to shift the UGC-NET from June 16 (Sunday) to June 18, 2024 (Tuesday) because of feedback received from candidates,” UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar wrote on X. On a single day, NTA would conduct UGC-NET in OMR format across India. NTA will provide an official announcement shortly.

The purpose of the UGC NET exam is to assess an Indian national’s eligibility for positions in Indian universities and colleges as “Assistant Professor” and “Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor.”
