36 kilogram of pure meth found

On Friday, sleuths from the Chennai Zone of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) found 36 kg of ethamphetamine, or “crystal meth,” worth Rs 180 crore at the Madurai Railway Junction and Kodungaiyur dumpyard in Chennai.

“Crystal meth” is a very euphoric substance that is highly addictive. DRI had set up a trap at Madurai junction based on information that a passenger on the Pothigai Express train would be transporting illegal substances.

When the train arrived in Madurai on Friday, an RPF-assisted DRI team stopped him.
