47,000 tons of legacy trash are treated in Brahmapuram, the corporation reports to the Kerala High Court

The Kochi Corporation reported to the High Court on March 18 that 47,000 tonnes of legacy garbage has been treated as a result of the court order, and that bio-mining being carried out by Bhumi Green Energy at the Brahmapuram waste treatment facility had advanced significantly.

As of April 9, 2024, 8,000 metric tons of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) had been processed, and 48,000 tons had been removed from the site, according to the corporation secretary.

According to the secretary, the bio-mining project has made significant headway, and the business has promised the local body that it would be finished by the end of May.

The corporation’s attorney provided information regarding the plan to install sanitary napkin incinerators in public buildings, such as the High Court and the office of the advocate general. The incinerators would initially be placed in or close to public institutions such as schools, colleges, and other establishments where the need is urgent.
