9 cellphones taken from the prison, 11 reservations

Two First Information Reports (FIRs) under the Prisons Act were filed at the Division Number 7 police station on Sunday, after the recent discovery of nine mobile phones from the Central Jail in Ludhiana.

Eleven prisoners have been charged for breaking jail regulations. Following the discovery of four mobile phones, five prisoners were charged in the first FIR. In another instance, five mobile phones were found, and six prisoners were booked. The cases are being looked upon by ASI Gurdial Singh.
