A couple from Tilak Nagar in Delhi was detained with around 800 kilos of heroin

According to authorities on Friday, a couple was detained with about 800 grams of heroin after they were reportedly caught selling it here.

They named the suspects as Tilak Nagar residents Rajesh Rana (44), and his wife Neelam (43).

An official said that Neelam, a declared criminal, was being sought after by the police.

“We got an information on Wednesday about Neelam’s whereabouts in Tilak Nagar. Neelam and her husband were apprehended during a raid, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vichitra Veer.

“Rana has been found previously involved in 23 criminal cases, while his wife had involvement in eight cases,” according to the DCP.

According to him, the accused had 798.3 grams of heroin valued at more than Rs 20 lakh in his hands when the police found it.

The DCP also said that a complaint under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was filed at the police station in Tilak Nagar.
