Fazilka: Two young people detained for the murder of their grandma

An elderly lady in the Fazilka district’s Alamwala hamlet was reportedly strangled to death two days before, and the Fazilka police claimed to have solved the crime.

Fazilka SSP Pragya Jain said that the elderly woman was killed by her grandchildren due to a property dispute. They have both been taken into custody along with their accomplice.

When Kaushlaya Bai,82, went missing in the hamlet, it was discovered that she had been killed while resting in the courtyard of their home. Additionally, the deceased’s earrings had been taken off. The deceased’s son, Balwinder Singh, had claimed in the police report that she was killed by some unknown robbers who also took off her earrings.

Following a thorough inquiry, SSP Jain said that it was discovered that Kaushalaya’s mother’s cousin, Ramandeep Singh, and the deceased’s grandsons, Naresh Singh and Sukhchain Singh, had planned a plot to strangle Kaushalaya to death using the clothing she was sleeping in.

The SSP said that “it was made to look like a burglary by the accused” in order to deceive the police and other parties.

According to SSP Jain, the reason for the murder was because the accused wanted to buy the about two acres of property that Kaushalaya held and had been requesting the revenue from the land, which the elderly lady had reportedly refused.
