A man assaults a twenty-year-old for breaking up with her

Near Pravachambalam’s Convent Road, a guy assaulted a 20-year-old college student on Monday night after the victim reportedly broke up with him. According to the Nemom police, the accused—a resident of Arikkadamukku, close to Pravachambalam—tried to cut the woman’s neck with a knife as she was on her way home from class.

The victim was injured when the accused, a 21-year-old college student, flashed the knife at her neck and left the scene.

The two were reportedly in a relationship at one point. But the lady broke up with him, saying he was acting aggressively. After this, the accused was going to get revenge on her. The sources claim that the guy repeatedly reached out to the victim in an attempt to persuade her to settle their differences. She did not, however, reply favorably. He finally waited for her at the scene of the crime out of resentment, and he made an attempt to start a discussion with her when she got there. She attempted to dodge him, however, and as a result, she was assaulted. The police sources said that “the fact that he was carrying a knife shows that it was a pre-planned attack.”

A case has been filed by the police on allegations of attempted murder and other non-bailable offenses. Meanwhile, the child is reportedly in stable condition while she recovers at a hospital in the city.
