Amritsar: Police solve woman’s murder case in a day, hold juvenile

Within 24 hours of the event, the police had solved the case of a lady who was blindly murdered on Sultanwind Road in the Gobind Nagar neighborhood. The young kid, who is 17 years old and from Uttar Pradesh (UP), has been apprehended. He was living on Sultawind Road, Drummanwala Bazar, at the moment. A hardcore criminal, the suspect has previously been charged in two cases: one for theft of Rs 6 lakh and the other for attempted rape of an eight-year-old kid.

Remarkably, the suspect used to get free education and financial assistance from the late Harpreet Kaur, commonly known as Rozi (42). The suspect had planned a heist at Rozi’s house and was fully aware of it.

According to Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, the Commissioner of Police (CP) of Amritsar, Navjot Singh, ADCP-3, Gurindbir Singh, ACP (East), and Sukhbir Singh, SHO, Division B police station, launched an inquiry because of the case’s sensitivity. According to the CP, the team solved the murder case in less than a day and found the knife that was used.

According to Bhullar, the suspect knew the victim lived alone and also knew where the money was stored in her home. He intended to steal something when he went to the victim’s residence on the day of the murder. Rozi addressed the guy after recognizing him. According to the CP, the suspect repeatedly stabbed Rozi in the neck with a knife in an attempt to hide his identity from her. The CP said that the suspect left the scene after murdering Rozi.

The casualty was single. She had been living in the home alone since her parents passed away around a dozen years ago. When the victim was a little girl, her uncle and aunt adopted her. She was receiving her uncle’s pension when he left the Post Department. Along with giving candy to the neighborhood kids, she used to give money to the underprivileged and needy.

When a little girl went to the victim’s residence on April 28th in the evening to ask for chocolate, she saw her lying in a pool of blood. When the youngster sounded the alarm, neighbors gathered at the location. The victim sustained injuries from a sharp object behind her neck. Near the scene, there was also the knife that was used in the crime.
