Andhra Pradesh: A Large Fire at the Visakhapatnam Fishing Harbor Destroys Almost 40 Boats

In Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, a huge fire broke out in a fishing harbor, destroying around forty boats and injuring two fishermen.

According to authorities, the fire has been controlled after several fire engines arrived at the scene. Additionally, early reports suggest that the fire may have been started by a gas leak.

One boat was the first victim of the fire, which gradually spread to all the other vessels in the harbor.

Local fisherman allegedly said, suspecting foul play, that some unknown people may have purposefully set the boats on fire.

According to Anand Reddy, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Visakhapatnam), the fire started on a boat at the fishing harbor in Visakhapatnam and quickly spread to over 35 fiber-mechanized boats at midnight. This information was reported by ANI. Reddy said that an investigation is still ongoing despite the filing of a complaint.

According to ADGP Law and Order Ravi Shankar, several youngsters were there when one of the ships caught fire late at night. It is likely that they were partying, but fortunately other boatmen arrived and “deanchored the ship and let it off into the sea.”

“Because the ship was fully loaded with gas and diesel cylinders, the fire spread quickly to the other ships berthed at the jetty. And Shankar said.

The ADGP informed ANI that they were assisted by the Navy ship Sahara, which allowed them to contain the fire.

Five days before, in the wee hours of Wednesday in Thane, Maharashtra, a fire broke out in a residential complex’s parking lot, destroying sixteen vehicles in all, including three automobiles.
