The first list of the BJP’s candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections is expected to be released today, after the party’s Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting on Thursday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief BJP Whip JP Nadda, and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh were among those present during the Thursday night meeting.

Attending the meeting at the BJP headquarters were leaders from several states, including Goa’s Pramod Sawant, Gujarat’s Bhupendra Patel, Madhya Pradesh’s Mohan Yadav, Uttarakhand’s Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chhattisgarh’s Vishnu Deo Sai, and Uttar Pradesh’s Yogi Adityanath.

The meeting was also attended by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Diya Kumari, and Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

How Many Names Are Included on The BJP’s First List?
The BJP is reportedly planning to announce the names of 150 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.

The first list’s most probable names
The names on the initial list will come from both seats that the governing party hopes to win and those where it is well-positioned. The attention that the BJP’s candidate lists always get is due to the inclusion of prominent people as well as the introduction of fresh faces. The public is curious to see whether the party will choose fresh candidates or leave out certain well-known figures. Shah, Nadda, and other party officials have met with state leaders many times in order to compile lists of possible candidates that the CEC would eventually have to accept.

The first list is expected to include Prime Minister Modi (Varanasi), Amit Shah (Gandhinagar), Defence Minister Rajnath Singh (Lucknow), Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari (Nagpur), Parvesh Verma (West Delhi), Manoj Tiwari (North West Delhi), and Ramesh Bidhuri (South Delhi). It also includes Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Bhupendra Yadav, Piyush Goyal, Mansukh Mandaviya, Parshottam Rupala, and Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
