Bomb threats have been received by DPS and Sanskriti, among other Delhi-NCR schools; police are on high alert

Following bomb threats at at least four schools in the Delhi-NCR on Wednesday morning, the schools were evacuated and bomb disposal teams as well as fire tenders were sent.

The Delhi Police said that they had received information about a bomb at Delhi Public School, Dwarka. They added that fire tenders and a bomb disposal team had been sent to the scene, and that a search was now ongoing.

Additionally, according to the police, Mother Mary’s School in East Delhi, Mayur Vihar, got an email this morning with a bomb threat. According to the police, the school has been evacuated and a comprehensive inspection of the school’s grounds is underway, as reported by ANI.

The police said that Sanskriti School also received a bomb threat via email and that a comprehensive inspection of the school’s grounds is now underway.

Additionally, Delhi Public School in Noida has received an email threatening the children’ security and safety. An announcement from the principal’s office said, “We are sending the students back home immediately as a precautionary measure.”

Several schools have received emails about bomb threats, according to the Delhi Police. “During the initial investigation, it seems that the mail has been sent to many places since yesterday and it seems to be on the same pattern,” the Delhi Police were reported by news agency ANI as saying. The absence of the date line and the inclusion of BCC in the correspondence indicate that it was sent to many addresses. An inquiry is now underway.”
