Bomb Threats That Rocked the Nation’s Capital at Certain Times

New Delhi: On Wednesday, threats to blow up eight schools were made, which sent fear through the schools and the surrounding neighborhoods of the capital. Bomb disposal and detection teams were sent, and the Delhi Police raced to the scene right away. Although searches are ongoing, no explosive have yet to be discovered.

The nation’s capital has already seen bomb-threat-related terror attacks. The Chacha Nehru Hospital in Shahdara, Delhi, got a bomb threat on Tuesday. An email was used to deliver the threat. Around ten in the morning, a staff member at the Chacha Nehru hospital forewarned the authorities after getting the concerning email.

Bomb threats were made to Delhi University’s Ram Lal Anand College in March of this year; however, they turned out to be false. At around 9:34 a.m., a college staff member got a call on WhatsApp. An ambulance, a bomb detection team, and a disposal squad were sent to the college as soon as the police received information. For almost three hours, the Police also searched the whole campus. Since no bomb was found, the Delhi Police ruled it to be a hoax.

Bomb Threats Are Issued to Over 8 Delhi Schools
On Wednesday, emails containing bomb threats were sent to many schools, including Mother Mary School in Mayur Vihar, Delhi Public School in Dwarka, Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri, Delhi Public School in Vasant Kunj, and Amity School in Saket. An email containing a similar bomb threat was also received by Delhi Public School (DPS) in Noida Sector 30.

Every school that was threatened with a bomb has been evacuated, and the Delhi Police Special Cell, among other security agencies, is investigating the email’s origin. According to reports, the Police think that a single individual was responsible for all of the emails sent to several institutions. Bomb disposal squads, bomb detection teams, and Delhi Fire Service personnel were sent to the school as soon as the local police learned about the emails. A search is still continuing, but no bomb has been found as of yet.

Police Request: Calm Parental Reaction

DCP South West Rohit Meena asked the parents to remain composed and not panic. He expressed his suspicion that the situation seems to include bulk emails and said that the technical team is looking into it. “I would want to ask parents and children to maintain composure and not freak out. We are in communication with the school administration and are having every single school inspected,” he said.

“We have learned that at about 4:15 in the morning, many schools received the identical email. After considering our options, we decided to shut down the schools and send the pupils home. Every school is undergoing a check-in, and our technology division is looking into the email. It seems from the preliminary inquiry that this is a bulk email, according to DCP South West Rohit Meena.

“We’ve checked all the schools and nothing has been found, so there’s no need to panic,” said Devesh Kumar Mahla, DCP Central.

Fire Officer JB Singh reported a bomb threat on the Mother Mary School hoax in Mayur Vihar. We were notified by phone that Mother Mary’s School in Mayur Vihar had a bomb. Despite thorough checking, nothing was discovered. The call was a ruse. There is a fire tender, a bomb disposal team, and Delhi Police on the scene,” he said.
